About the School Roundel Competition
The School Competition is an exciting opportunity for budding artists and historians to design a unique circular stained glass artwork to be presented to a former Lord Mayor of London.
We invite students to submit an original design on paper. The winning design will be made into a roundel by a professional stained-glass artist and will be presented to Sir Andrew Parmley, the 689th Lord Mayor of London at a special event to be held at your school.
The pupil with the winning design will receive £100 to deposit in their savings account. The winner’s school will receive £200-worth of school art materials.
Clemence Woolford – 2018 Competition Winner
Christopher Seow presents Clemence with her prize
Clemence won £100 to be deposited into her savings account, her family received a year’s membership to Historic Royal Palaces and Clemence’s school received a £200 voucher for school art material.
I’ve put my setting here where there are many boats travelling (the Lord Mayor’s favourite thing). London Bridge is a very popular place where tourists like to explore.
The Lord Mayor runs London so I’ve put a sailor hat on London Bridge, to rule over the boat of London.
The boat going through is called ‘The Jeffery’ as his first name is Jeffery. I’ve written his name as on the sheet and put 2018. Clemence Woolford
