Just Say Yes
Alderman Sir Andrew Parmley, 689th Lord Mayor of the City of London shares his thoughts and reflections on his time in office, with the theme: ‘Just Say Yes’.
Sir Andrew was the Lord Mayor of London for 2016–17. His Reflections on his year in office – as 689th Lord Mayor of London – take place on 13th May 2019 at Vintners’ Hall, the home of the Worshipful Company of Vintners (of which Sir Andrew is current Master).
In superb and historic Livery Company surroundings, the audience will enjoy a networking reception, fine dinner and engaging speeches. It’s an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the contemporary relevance of the Lord Mayor’s role, and on the value and global reach of London’s civic and community life.

About our Reflections speaker
Sir Andrew Parmley was appointed Knight Bachelor in the 2018 New Years Honours for services to Music, Education and Civic Engagement. As Principal of the Harrodian School in Barnes, he has a long association with music and education, winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at the age of 18 and subsequently studying at Manchester, Royal Holloway and Jesus College, Cambridge. He is former Director of Music at Forest School, near Snaresbrook, South Hampstead High School and Grey Coat Hospital in Westminster.
Sir Andrew became an Alderman in 2001 and is a Past Master of three Worshipful Companies – Musicians (his Mother Company), Parish Clerks and Glass-Sellers of London. He was the first liveryman from the Glass-Sellers to be elected as Lord Mayor of London.
Lady Parmley, who is currently Master of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, will also be attending the 2019 Reflections of the Lord Mayor.
