Reflections of The Lord Mayor Event
Reflections of The Lord Mayor is an annual event that gives us an opportunity to celebrate the vital role of the Lord Mayor of London.
One of the oldest continuously elected civic offices in the world, the Lord Mayor plays a vital part in the life of the City and in supporting UK plc. Each Lord Mayor also supports the communities of our great capital.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal Charity is delighted to continue to be partnered with the Reflections of the Lord Mayor event. Surplus from the Reflections of the Lord Mayor event goes to the charity(s) nominated by the Lord Mayor who speaks at the event.
So why did I choose to devise and organise this event? As a Malaysian-born UK resident who has put down roots – living, working and raising two children in London – I have the greatest respect for this great City institution.
As a business management academic, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand the long-term value of ‘meetings of minds’, and that is what the office of Lord Mayor facilitates.
This is our chance to say thank you to the men and women who have held office so diligently. It is also one of those rare occasions when people can come together to celebrate the value of civic life. I hope you will join us on Monday 13th May 2019 for the next event, when we celebrate Sir Andrew Parmley’s Reflections as 689th Lord Mayor of London. And if you need any information about attending as a guest or supporting us as a partner, do please get in touch with me, Chris Seow at [email protected]
